There is a commercial that is on all the time about the "HurryCane". It seems different then most canes as it folds and stands by itself.

I have a broken leg and am thinking I will definitely need a good cane in the next few months.

Has anyone seen the commercials, if so what do you think? If you actually have it do you like it?

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Our concern when we saw the commercials was that we didn't think it was safe enough. In my opinion, most collapsible canes are not strong enough for a person who is overweight. We were thinking of either MIL or myself in this respect. MIL also did not like the fact that it seems to lean with you. She thinks it leaves you open to falls. I reminded her that canes were not totally fall resistant like she thinks.

One advantage I see if that it takes as much room as a single foot cane, but can stand on it's own like a quad foot cane. I have both single and quad foot canes as well as my rollator. MIL has a single foot cane and her walker. I am soon moving to a scooter or wheelchair and MIL refuses to go that route. I am tired of falling and she doesn't want to feel "old and lazy". (her words)
