As for the rapture - You need to read Revelation. I prefer the HCSB translation. Easy on the eyes and very close to the original translation.

I remember that day :). I played a prank on my husband that I'd been raptured and left my clothes on the back porch and made it look as if I'd just disappeared out of them in an instant. I made sure my socks were up right in my shoes, my bra and panties were where they would be. Even my bra straps were were in the upright position but my shirt was crumpled up as if I just dropped out of them as were my pants.

I hid in his work shop up on the hill behind my home with clear view of the porch area and when he couldn't find me after around 10 minutes or so he started to get really worried. He's a non-believer and he did something I never thought he'd do. He actually got this confused look on his face and looked up at the sky. It seemed as though he was questioning the reality of what may have just really happened but as quick as he did that the logical side of him took over and he started searching for me again. He had no idea I was in his shop. Never even thought to look because I'm deathly afraid of spiders and he knows I'd never, ever go in there. Well...I knew that and hid there.

I will say this though. I did see something beautiful in the sky at around the time the rapture was supposed to take place in my time zone. I cannot even describe it. I just remember looking at the sky and saying If you're real take me for these few minutes I will and do believe in you ( my faith has lasped and still is on the fence ) and I saw this odd cloud and it was kind of like a flash similar to an aurora borelis ( however you spell it ) and the clouds around it took on the same color. it only lasted for a few seconds and was when I was really hoping I'd go "home". It's odd how when I lost that faith again it disappeared. I do wonder if I imagined it.

I cannot explain what I saw but for a few seconds it was beautiful and peaceful. I wish I could feel that again, whatever it was.
