I heard a lot about this movie, "The Corporation" and I decided to buy to support their efforts. I must admit that I'm afraid that the movie may be boring for me to watch but wow... boy, I was wrong. The movie trapped my attention for good. It does contain the sense of humor which I am relieved when I found out. It is very educated and fascinating movie for anyone to watch or who want to know bit more about Corporations and what did they do to us. However it is bit long movie for short-span attention folks... it contains 145 minutes (approx 2 ½ hours). But I have to say that I am bit disappointed with this movie only because I already know about these things. Examples: environment pollution included deformed children & animals (these are bit unsettling visuals for people who have weak stomachs), dangers of globalization, developing the TV advertises to aim at American children to make sure that they will nag their parents to buy these toys & foods, short-term success of privatization then long-term disaster of privatization, 'economy tsunami', lack of social responsibility, etc... It only revealed one percent (that's 1%) of what I already know about these but for general population in America, they may will be shock what they find out through this movie. But still, I am happy that I bought this movie since it reveals the heart-breaking images & scenes that didn't show up in these books & journals that I read which stirs my emotions. As famous quote: "Every picture says 1,000 words". However it does revealed the 'positive' sides of The Corporation so therefore this movie is not biased or anti-Corporation in any way. Example: Pfizer provided the services in the subway and neighbor area to offer the safety in these area. Disney builds the 'Family Houses' for Americans to move in and such. That is what 'social responsibility' means. Btw, this movie is based off from this book, The Corporation by Joel Bakan. It is highly recommend for anyone to buy to find out more about Corporations. It covers several things that this movie didn't cover... This movie covers several things that book didn't cover.

Oh yeah, it contains the history about Corporations and how, where, when and why it got started.

Talking points:

"Privatization thus makes the most of our inevitably selfish and materialist nature."

"Though privatized services might by some measures and in some contexts prove more effective than public ones, privatization is flawed as a general and long-term solution to society's problems"

(when the airplanes hit and the World Trade Center towers collapsed and capitalists/economists yapping), "the first thing you thought about was 'Well, how much is gold up?'" ... "in the next couples of days we got them all out ... everybody doubled their money" ... "(September 11) was a blessing in disguise, devastating, you know, crushing, heart-shattering. But.... for my clients that were in the (gold) market, they all made money," ... "In devastation there is opportunity. It's all about creating wealth"

"we're not going to be able to exist in a global context if we are the bastards of our business" ... "Capitalism needs the moral equivalent of the 'Communist Manifesto" ... "a manifesto for capitalism"

"if we really want to improve the conditions of American cities, we business people have to take responsibility" ... (Hank Mckinnel, chairman and CEO of Pfizer) "the driving force behind the rejuvenation of a very devastated inner city area"

All in all, I highly recommend anyone to rent or buy and watch this movie. It is very good movie to watch.

Yeah that movie is real good,i like what the guy says right at the start about how much good the corporation does for society and then cracks up laughing saying what a load of crap it was that he just said

Is it captioned?

I saw the DVD at Best Buy, but couldn't find any signs of it having subtitles or CC.
