David W. Carter, senior vice president, Marketing and Communications for Magellan Health Services, has been elected president of the board of directors at the American School for the Deaf.
Mr. Carter succeeds Ms. Carleton Mowell of West Hartford, CT. Mr. Carter has been involved with ASD since 2003. He lives in Simsbury with his wife, Pamela and four children.
The American School for the Deaf also announces appointments to the School's Corporation and Board of Directors. New directors include Christine Homa, Director of Major Giving for the Channel 3 Kids Camp in Andover, Connecticut; Benjamin C. Jensen, Commercial Litigation Attorney at Robinson & Cole, LLP in Hartford; and Dr. Sarah E. Schlegel, an attending physician at Connecticut Children's Medical Center in the Department of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics and an assistant professor of pediatrics with the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
New to the corporation are Michael J. Croll, Esq. who has a law practices in Hartford and Fairfield counties, Sara C. Gerhold, M.A., Interpreter Coordinator for the Sate of Connecticut Commission on the Deaf and Hearing Impaired in Hartford, Gary M. Greco, M.E., L.P.C., Director of Collegiate Education for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing at Northwestern CT Community College in Winsted, and Michael S. Posner, M.S., Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor/Rehabilitation Counselor for the Deaf at the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services, Hartford.
