Education roundup: Stockdale, Centennial place in science bowl - Bakersfield.com
The 10th annual "Deaf Authors' Day" will be held Thursday at Actis Junior High where deaf and hearing-impaired students from Kern County's schools will meet with other students, teachers, school staff and families to share a book each has written.
Deaf Authors' Day has been an annual event since Kern County Superintendent of Schools special needs teacher Jolene Berg introduced it in 2001. Each student's work is original -- written, illustrated and published by them. It is an opportunity to share their literary accomplishments with others.
The event is by invitation only.
