Uh, Buck. He has a point. You seem to only think about sports, which is a nice diversion for people. However, sports aren't the end all and be all. There's too sides to everything.

The original point of the thread was Shaeffer being ousted as comptroller, and that is a good thing. But, not because Maryland might get another sports team now. It came down to Shaeffer being a louse, and probably just managed to mess things up. As previously stated, he wasn't a great governor, so he probably sucked as comptroller, too.

The reasoning that he screwed up sports deals is irrelevant.

WHY DIDNT SHAFFER MAKE IRSAY SIGN THIS DEAL,,,,If Youre gonna move the colts, The Name colts,,The Logo and Their Colors stay here.Just like Mayor Rondell White did in Cleveland Telling Art Modell you cant take the name the Browns and Their Records with you.See cities like Cleveland and Oakland are allowed to Keep their names.But Baltimore,,Brookyn,,New Orleans,,Houston and LA not allowed to keep their names anmd tradition.Thats why Indianpolis will never see the superbowl cause the have A STOLEN NAME,,STOLEN RECORDS,,And a STOLEN LOGO.Its About BAD KARMA!!! And the Colts are still cursed Unless Irsay Gives us Back the name,,Our Colors and Our records back to Baltimore.

What does this have to do with Shaeffer?

You're basically pissed, because the Colts left Baltimore. Do you realize that happened years ago? I'd have to google to find out when because I barely remember it, but I know it happened when I was maybe, a teenager? Probably before then. Incidently, I'm in my late 30s, so we're talking quite awhile ago here.

If you think Shaeffer leaving is gonna bring the Colts back, you're dreaming.

Just for grins, I went ahead and googled ... The Colts left Baltimore in 1984. In other words, twenty-three yrs ago.

Talk about misguided, how can you say we needed a stupid stadium more than harbor place. The inner harbor was a pit. Have you ever been to the science center, I think not. It's an educational place. Where children can actually learn something. They can't learn anywhere near as much watching overpaid guys chase each other up and down the field. I would rather root for the local 7-11. Whats the difference. It's not a sport anymore it's big business. The days of Johnny U are long gone. What does it cost to take a family of four to the football game. See what I mean ,big business. They wanted a stadium, let them build their own why should I pay for it. And although it is Schaefers time to go, his efforts were in the right direction. The people and the city of Baltimore first. The sports fanatics last. Schaefer was not a bad comptroller, he was a better mayor than he was governor. I think he is an honest guy. Its just his time to go.
