Texas to execute inmate convicted in 1990 murder and rape

When I was young, I did support death penalty. After several times in Jury duty I see differently and realized that death penalty is just an escape for guilty ones from lifetime prison. True business many of these who are truly guilty WANTS death penalty than to spend rest of their natural life in prison. Who wants to live in jail for rest of life? I bet nobody does.

I'm not sure what you mean. I believe that to convict anyone of anything there needs to be real evidence and no doubt. I would rather see criminals go free than innocent people convicted of crimes they didn't commit. I feel that the number of cases repealed with new DNA evidence has proven that this is not always the case.
 
In history, there are too many innocent people got executed while the real crooks are free on the street doing more killing.

I rather have them spent the rest of their life in prison, this would give this person if found innocent at later date so that this person can have second chance while those who already execute don't have second chance and the damage is done. Lifetime prison actually preserves potential innocent felons second chance.

You know, your nose will get used to it eventually. It is same when you doing dump, you can't smell it while others exclaimed "Phew" then you come out of bathroom and return to smell your own shit, wow! Right?

Smell is only temporary, while death is P E R M A N E N T. That's whole difference. Once we execute somebody, we can not fix it. But if we didn't execute then later found out the truth we let the innocent go free and we gotta to pay for the damage and get the real bastard in prison.

Forgot to add this, when we execute somebody and if truly guilty, we are adding more victims on the top of orignal victims. Both families on both sides suffers, but if we execute wrong person, we double the number of victims, the families of innocent accuser that had executed for what? Fair to them? I don't think so and at the same time the guilty one got away with it, nada nada. Once the execution carries out, the case automatically closed and if that person is actually innocent which means what? The real guilty one ACTUALLY walks away and laughing and decided to kill more knowing they can get away with it, cause no one will review case once the innocent felon executed, as opposed to if never execute, the innocent felon can fight to prove innocent which makes the real killer nervous about getting caught later on.

I think we should do everything possible to keep innocent people out of jail period. That doesn't change how I feel about the death penalty.

There seems no doubt that Rickey Lewis commit these horrible crimes. As far as I'm concerned there is no space on this planet for people that do things like he did.

If innocent people die from death penalty so your taxes will BLOW due to expensive lawsuit against on government for wrongful death.

That's why we need to be sure they are not innocent. But personally I'm more concerned with the moral implication than the fiscal one.
 
We still need space for these people, its called cemetery. Still using up space on Earth, what difference does it makes?

we do reuse cemetery or build a mall above it after a certain number of year. this one guy isn't going to make a difference.
