A tele-centre was launched yesterday to help the deaf in emergency situations in a pilot project called MySign Community.
Deaf people find it difficult to use the telephone to get help. The tele-centre will monitor SMSes from them and seek the assistance of the authorities.
Funds of RM1.4 million have been allocated for the project.
