Technician's horror or gross out at Customer's home

You betcha this month is Halloween month!

I decide to ask anyone who are VP tech, Computer tech, or Network tech or any Technicians who visited customer's home to fix the problem with system. Have anyone ever encounter horror at customer's home that you never expected to see.

I read story about comp tech fixed customer's pc and said it made funny noise and smelled smoke. It turned out that dead snake got into power supply and got mangled by fan.

I have my own version of grossed out story.

Few days ago, I went over to customer's home to fix her network problem (generally) for her pc and vp. When I came in their house, it smelled like cat litter had not been cleaned for months. I put up with it anyway cuz their home was very messy anyway. They have 3 cats tho. As I began to check out the wiring and it was chock full of wires plus two power strips. Guess what! :eek2: one of their cat peed and pooped behind desk and Armiore where all wires laid on floor. Dried pee gunked up on wires!! Oohhh man I never felt grossed out. I had to do the job fixing their network and re-wire everything cuz one of son's friend mess up the wiring for network causing vp not work. Sorenson's router was peed on too. I had to pinch wires to seperate which are a yucky job. Finally correcting wiring. One of their power strip was bad cuz cat pee shorted it. She said it was new last year. I told her throw it away cuz fuse inside of it was blown. I turncate plugs to one strip and weeded out plugs that went dead end (went nowhere). I told customer that u have cat pee and poops behind desk and Armiore. They said ooooh no wonder that where smells came from!! They cleaned up the mess but leaving wires still with peed gunks.

Vp and pc got online fine and told me that their pc sometime froze up and think it need fix. I asked them when is the last time it had cleaned. 2 years since they haven't had it cleaned. So I took their pc out and took it home. CPU case were dirty all over like pop spill cat hair, dust ect on it even modem jack got peed by cat. After I got home. I smelled like cat's litter. I went ahead and take CPU out to driveway with compressed air. I removed the cover and :eek2: it was full of cat hair, dust ect.. You name it. I ducked away and blew it out, cat hair, dust ect drift to the wind. It was really nasty sight especially lots of cat hairs!! After it is cleaned out. I had to use rag and Windex to clean around cpu case. Now their pc are cleaned and able to work on it. I took a shower cuz I smelled!!

I had to do the job cuz they r paying me to do dirty job like Mike Rowe in Dirty Jobs show.

So anyone share their nasty or horror story!?

Catty

Ewwwww  Grossieee!!!

I am currently working as Window Treatment Technician. I visit about 10-12 customer homes everyday, and I work 60-80 hours per week. I have so many experiences working with customers, and of course I have many stories to tell, just like a book. Anyways, I am telling you this one out of many stories. One time I went to customer's home, and I have installed 10 blinds in her house, and job was completed. When I left her place, like 10 minutes later my boss texted me to go back to her place, because that customer was crying so hard, she was suspecting that one of her 10 cats escaped from her house, and jumped into my working van. I texted my boss back and told him that her cat just jumped to my face while I was driving, that was scary moment, actually I don't think I have her cat with me. My boss was on the phone with customer at sametime trying to hold the laugh. I returned to her place, and took everything (box, blinds, shades, curtains, etc.) out of truck, and she still suspecting that her cat is in my engine. Well, obviously she's insane old lady. I opened the hood, and she looked and found nothing. She started to cry hard, I actually don't know what to do, but I told her that her cat must be in the basement. When we enter the front door, and there's her cat standing on the front door. She suddenly smiled, and hugged her cat, and said bye bye bye to me. I was like, oh my ... what a day, and left.

 Poor you!!

That's a good funny story Catty! But my worst experience about they asked me for a :eek3: night stand :eek3: TWICE when they couldn't afford their bills. So I walked away and never work for them again.

:jaw: Oh my Gawd! Gald you walked away!!
