Indianapolis police on Monday arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with an assault on a 69-year-old deaf woman at her Southeastside home.
Jerry Jackson of Pekin, Ind., faces initial charges of rape, criminal deviate conduct, burglary and residential entry in the Jan. 19 attack.
Jackson has been held in the Marion County Jail since Friday after police caught him illegally possessing prescription painkillers -- drugs police say he stole from the woman he attacked.
During an interview with police on Monday, Jackson reportedly admitted that he repeatedly attacked the woman over about three hours late on Thursday and early on Friday, according to a police report.
Jackson also admitted stealing a generic form of the painkiller Vicodin from the woman's home, police said.
