I want to make it my goal to support 2 small businesses each week. I'm sure many of you have read about benefits of shopping small business as opposed to chain places.

By support, I don't mean making donations. I mean like shopping at your local clothing store instead of Target or eat at local fast food place instead of McDonalds.

So if given choice, would you like to support more than 2 small business each week? Less?

I was just in Nashville all week. While there, I bought nothing but local. I had some outstanding food! I posted pictures on my FB about all those. Heh!

I am a proud member of my town's Chamber of Commerce. At home, we buy local as much as we can but it's not always possible. At least, I don't think I have shopped at Walmart in about two years. Head to your farmer's market and you will be as local as you can humanly be all the while getting much healthier.

I also make it a point to buy American. I buy a lot of industrial equipment and supplies for my business. So I buy from small manufacturers. I would say... roughly 70%-80% is made in America. What's not comes from Home Cheapo or Blowe's.

Some of our vehicles, unfortunately, are not American.

:D

But we have GOT to get back to buying American and local, ladies and gents.

I hope that karma is not a bitch. I hope that the more I support local businesses, the better the area will look every time I visit.

That is impressive!! SO far, I've supported about 2 small businesses this week. One of them was in Michigan. One is local.
