Sunset and Sunrise

You live in Alaska? Since I noticed you have the sunrise and sunset times are short with long daylight hours. I was in Alaska with those similar times back in 1988.
Yes the day is getting longer and pretty soon around june 21st, we going have our midnight celebrated going. And getting pretty warm up here too. We been waiting for that for whiles. You know I like night but I so use to this it never bother me at all but I can go outside and read and don't have to worry about light because you got light outside also.

In Newfoundland, Sunrise will be around 5 30 am and sunset wil be at aorund 9 pm, in wintertime Sunrise will be around 7 am and sunset will be around 4:30.

you notice Newfoundland at summer time the sunrise is very early because we are in most eastern point in the North America. and see the sun from the ocean. it is so beautiful to watch the sun coming up.

That sounds like fun! I love the sunlight because I won't have worry about driving in the dark and also have more fun, too!

In New Zealand:

Summer: sunrise: 5:30am sunset: 9:20pm

Winter: sunrise: 7:20am sunset: 5:30pm

That is right! At the equator there isn't much change in time of sunrise/set. As far as I remember in hawaii sunrise and sunset always within half an hour from 7 o clock! That is why they don't need daylight savings time. Since about few weeks ago, the northmost of Alaska got sunlight 24 hours everyday til around August, then they will go completely dark 24 hours a day 6 weeks before and after x mas! Same goes to south pole, right now they are in complete dark for 24 hours a day. Anyway, sunrise and sunset is pretty much predictable no matter what.

That's because the farther north you are....the longer daylight hours are. Same goes the farther South you are...the shorter the daylight hours are, since it's winter in South half of the hemisphere, ie: Australia, South America, South Africa, etc. Since the Earth's axis is tilted and the sun shines on the planet Earth indirectly. Have you learned that in school about astrology and stuff?

In Seattle, WA, USA:

Summer: sunrise: about 5:10 am sunset: about 9:10pm (16 hour daylight)

Winter: sunrise: about 8:00am sunset: about 4:15pm (8 hour & 15 minute daylight)

Like Miami and Mexico City are closer to equator.
