Hi, I need your opinion on this complication. First, my son enrolled his new middle school and introduced a new interpreter that was being hired from an outside interpreter service because he is the only one in the school district to send the interpreter there to continue working with my son. They became so bond for 3 months so far, I was told by the school and interpreter that the interpreter would continue to keep him there as long as they allow. I was very happy for their improved progress, because the interpreter was a good match for my son and he talked so highly of his interpreter.
Second, the problem is that the interpreter called me on Monday which was his last day of unexpected leave to replace another interpreter who is being hired as a district employee, who just graduated from the interpreter training program. The school district ended his interpreter's contract early, he was very disappointed and wished they had told him they were hiring, he would have applied to continue working with my son, he loved his job. Too bad we don't have a choice in the school district decision because if we did we would choose him to work with my son. He feels lost, but he continues working for the agency. So bond as a male role! He was too good for my son, that's all that matters. His school teachers and the other students were very bummed out.
So, now my son seems accepting his new interpreter....not the same like how his bond interpreter was. He will learn to get used to him. But he really misses him.
For me, my feeling over this for his bond interpreter.....I think that is very wrong of the school district to withdraw him for another interpreter that is just only a district employee just like that that's like the bond with an interpreter get pulled to do another assignment and the student never sees them again. I wish they had told him in the first place what he would have to do before they do hire. They should know that as well.
I'm asking for your opinion what you think and what I should do to fix that. Help me correct this. So I can call the school district.
