This may have been addressed at one time or another and if so I apologize. I have always been a person that was able to turn to music when stressed to be able to relax. I used to play piano (don't have one anymore) and obviously listened to cd's or radio before I lost my hearing 3 years ago. I can't hear any sounds at all, and since I live with 2 elderly women, I can't turn it up to feel the vibration. I have at times put something on in my Windows Media Player just to see the beat through the visualizations, but even then the family complains that it is un-necessary.
Does anyone have any idea how I can use my love of music for me and not have it bother my family? Or can you suggest some other stress reliever. My brother suggests getting an equilizer for the stereo. I told him the stereo is still packed since MIL doesn't want it in her house. A walk is out of the question today since we are having storms off and on since sunrise. (Thank you Hurricane IDA for this wind and rain you are [pushing to the East coast.)
The stress today comes from mother's doctor. She had a colonoscopy scheduled and I was to pick up the pre-op meds today. Medicare will not cover either the meds or the procedure since they feel that at her age (70) it is an un-necessary procedure as there is no history of any issues. This was planned for a few weeks and now that I had to cancel, they say they are charging her $100 for a cancellation fee. When I explained they said basically that it was too bad, I needed to give them a 5 day notice. I then asked what if she was dead and I was cancelling, would the fee still apply and they said yes. Therfore, I was just a little pissed.
I don't mean to be a pest about seemingly small things, but I'm stuck!!
