hey all,
so I still have tendinitis in my elbow. and I had it for 3 years straight. I had a minicamp last weekend from drumline that lasted from friday evening (3:30-7:30) to saturday morning-afternoon (9AM-5PM) to sunday evening (1pm-9pm) to monday (9am-9pm) and i think i pushed my elbow too hard on the last monday. It's been hurting all last week and all this week. Now i haven't been icing too much, because of my busy schedule but my neighbour is also a physical therapist, and i've been going to her for free, it helps but not all the time. This is my last week of break before i go back to school on january 3rd and I start my busy schedule again with drumline and school. Drumline season will end somewhere in April. I graduate in early June from high school. I've been trying to take it really easy with my elbow and it hurts everytime i play with heavy mallets when we have to be really intense with the music that we're learning. I keep telling my parents that they need to take me to some kind of specialist to get my elbow checked. but they kept telling me to take medicine and ice it mostly or to quit drumline. I was just talking to my friend on facebook who was also a former drumline member, and he told me to not move my elbow at all. My elbow basically feels like its not supported, and that its straining, another feeling i can't describe. When i move my elbow, like signing for example or moving something, it hurts.
I don't want to quit drumline, because i love it and because of my injury. But i don't know what else to do other than to go to a doctor to get it checked out. I need some advice.
