I am experience travel to most of all states.

I see only Pennsylvania and Utah that they didn't clean up dead animals on the side of highway! They didn't even bother to clean it up. :(

Last weekend, I saw there is some deer become decomposition in PA! :eek3:

Why?? :hmm:

Maybe budget cuts and not enough workers. I know we have plenty of dead deer along the interstates in Iowa. And also raccons, possums, etc....

I know there are people who take roadkills home to eat. I've encountered a few back in CA pulling over to grab a dead deer.

Hey, free meat is good especially when it's fresh and organic. Maybe people who live in those states don't like venison.

Not always good. If the bladder of the carcass is busted. No muy bueno.

That's why people check before bringing it home. They usually skin the animal on the spot, put the meat in an icebox. Also, check the liver. If it looks diseased, no good either.

In national parks here they leave the carcasses alone because it is "an natural occurring" thing. It allows the other animals to have something to eat.

Not a big deal.

I wish that when they find dead creatures, and they can dump it on the grass instead leave it on highway breakdown lane!! :( :(

SC usually leaves the carcasses alone unless they're a road hazard. The vultures are grateful. :)

I see them mostly in the spring months when you see lot of roadkill. I think it's less in summer and fall months. I've seen racoons, possums, deers and red fox. Most common are racoons, possums and deers.

Guess what!!!! :D

I felt so pleasurable! Today, I went to shop for my girl need summer outfits. I drove on highway and see that Massachusetts highway dept truck behind me. About three miles, I saw a dead animal middle the lane of highway. I looked at my rear mirror that highway dept truck pulled off so I am so glad that they picked it off the highway!

Because I was returning to home and looked over the opposite highway. It's gone! :thumb: :thumb:
