The past year was one of transition in the automobile industry: Big Three domestic carmakers General Motors, Ford and the Chrysler Group struggled. Toyota nearly passed GM as the largest car builder. China and India emerged as countries eager to build their own models for import.

Even in South Carolina, times were changing. BMW retooled its Upstate assembly plant that makes its popular Z4 roadster and X5 'sport activity vehicle,' and unveiled a new X5.

With such rapid evolution, it's important to keep up to speed on new developments. So in this spirit, here's a pop quiz on all things car-related in the Palmetto State:
