I would like to share somethin' about people's faith who stood up for Christ.

From a Friend's Last Look: "Kim"
North Korea 2001

Kim had come home, unable to speak. His mother could tell he was
in shock and sat with him, soothin' him and tryin' to find out what had
happened. Finally he began to open up to her.
"I was with one of my best friends today when 2 police officers approa-
ched us. They grabbed my friend and accused him of bein' a Christian.
One of the officers knocked him to the ground while the other took out
his gun. My friend didn't get angry or curse anyone. He ... he didn't even
try to defend himself. "Even as the gun was pointed directly at him, his
face remained peaceful. He looked straight into my eyes, and without
speakin' a word, I knew exactly what he was sayin'. He wanted me to
believe the same thing he did. And then he just said, "Bless them."
"He was executed right in front of me -- because he was a Christian. I
do not even know what a Christian is. I don't understand any of this."
Kim's mother held his head in her hands. There were tears in her eyes.
Now it was she who was in shock. She then told him simply, "I under-
stand."
"How could you possibly understand why they would kill my friend?"
She slowly began to tell her son about her Lord Jesus Christ, how He
had miraculously been born of a virgin and crucified on a cross to save
all those who would believe in Him. As she continued sharin' with her
eldest son, she began to sob. Now it was she would couldn't go on. She
felt the pain of never darin' to tell her son about Jesus Christ, lest his
fate would be like that of his friend. She also felt the overwhelmin' joy
of knowin' that God had not forgotten her son, but allowed someone
else to bring him the Gospel.
Finally she told him, "God allowed you to witness the martyrdom of
one of His brave children. As those bullets hit his heart, a seed of
hope was planted in yours."
The son prayed that night and received Jesus Christ into his heart.
He was filled with joy as he embraced his mother and thanked her
for tellin' him the truth. But suddenly he began to weep again and
appeared distraught. Confused, the mother asked, "Now what's
wrong?"
"My brothers," Kim cried, "they do not know Jesus. We must tell
them!"
His 3 brothers soon came home and discovered their older brother
and mother cryin' together. Their first thought was that somethin'
terrible had happened to their father, and they quickly knelt down
beside their mother, askin' what was wrong.
With unnatural boldness the eldest son stood up and responded,
"You should also receive Jesus Christ." Before the evenin' had
passed, all 3 had done exactly that. The mother was filled with joy.
Although she had never dared to speak to her children about her
Christian faith, she had diligently prayed for them every day. Now
that her children had accepted Jesus, she began cautiously lookin'
for a Bible so they could learn more of God's Word. But she could
not find any. Eventually her oldest son secretly crossed the Yalu River
into China in search of Bibles. You can imagine the look on his face
when he finally came across a miniature Bible in the Korean language.
He pleaded with the Christians in China, askin' how he could obtain
some of these Bibles. Regrettably no more were available. Refusin'
to admit defeat, he told the Christians the dramatic story of how
he had witnessed his friend's death and how he and his brothers
had learned of Jesus Christ. Before departin' for North Korea, he
said, "I am in need of 5 thousand of these Bibles to share with my
family and others in North Korea. I will be back in one month to
pick them up."
Hearin' of the request, some Christian workers hurriedly printed
5 thousand copies of the miniature Korean Bibles. Over the next
year or so, Kim returned on several occasions to smuggle the Bibles
back across the border. All 4 of these brothers are now actively
sharin' their faith, knowin' firsthand the consequences if they are
discovered. Since their last pickup of these Bibles some months ago,
no one has heard further news of them.

John 8:36
"If therefore the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."

How could God let something like this happen

"This is really something and so true" - Carol

This is not intended to be a joke, it's not intended to be funny, it's intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham's daughter (Anne Graham Lotz) was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her "How could God let something like this happen?" (regarding the attacks on Sept. 11).

Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, "I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our
government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?" In light of
recent events, terrorist attacks, school shootings, etc. - I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found recently) she complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.

Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school... the Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK.

Then someone said teachers and principals better not discipline our children when they misbehave. The school administrators said no faculty member in this school better touch a student when they misbehave because we don't want any bad publicity, and we surely don't want to be sued (there's big difference between disciplining, touching, beating, smacking, humiliating, kicking, etc). And we said OK.

Then someone said, let's let our daughters have abortions if they want, and they won't even have to tell their parents. And we said OK.

Then some wise school board member said, since boys will be boys and they're going to do it anyway, let's give our sons all the condoms they want so they can have all the fun they desire, and we won't have to tell their
parents they got them at school. And we said OK.

Then some of our top elected officials said it doesn't matter what we do in private as long as we do our jobs. Agreeing with them, we said it doesn't matter to me what anyone, including the president, does in private as
long as I have a job and the economy is good. Then someone said let's print magazines with pictures of nude women and call it wholesome, down-to-earth appreciation for the beauty of the female body. And we said OK.

And then someone else took that appreciation a step further and published pictures of nude children and then further again by making them available on the Internet. And we said OK; they're entitled to free speech.

Then the entertainment industry said; let's make TV shows and movies that promote profanity, violence, and illicit sex. Let's record music that encourages rape, drugs, murder, suicide, and satanic themes. And we said
it's just entertainment, it has no adverse effect, nobody takes it seriously anyway, so go right ahead.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves. Probably, if we think about it
long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT WE SOW."

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send 'jokes' through
e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public
discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing? Funny how when you read this message, you will not send it to many of your friends because you're not sure what they believe, or what they WILL think of you for sending it. Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us. Pass it on if you think it has merit. If not then just forget it...no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don't sit back and
complain about what bad shape the world is in! Are you thinking?

If YOU WANT TO WALK ON WATER, YOU HAVE TO STEP OUT OF THE BOAT.

Too bad these stories are just that -- stories. They're fictional.

The first story is nowhere to be found. No corroboration, which means that it's an urban legend (or in this case, a oral legend meant to inspire followers)

The second story has the beginnings of a truth. Anne Graham Lotz gave an interview with Jane Clayson -- but someone else wrote and added the rest of the "interview" read above.

Of course, the interview by Anne Lotz was pretty standard stuff, but now people are circulating emails and posts that state she went off into the above monologue that people think is true.

Well, I believe it is true, because of what happened nowdays. I read the newspapers online almost everyday and it tells almost the same as above. People want to put the 10 Commandments down - for instance. Schools don't wanna to teach about the Creation, but to teach about other foreign religions. *scratchin' my head* And, the list goes on and on. :-\

I wasn't going to post any reply to ID...

I wasn't going to say anything about abortion (still won't state position), but regarding the ID, I think, that since my fiancee' and I will be getting married shortly after she gets here, the two of us will have to talk about what type of school to send our children to.

I had attended a private Christian school for 8th and 9th grades and they put me behind considerably. However, one cannot judge all Christian schools like that (The ACE Program), as I'm sure there are better programs.

I just don't like the music that my kids would listen to, so my lady & I may consider either going back to a fundamental Baptist church or just send our kids to one or one that's conservative (in doctrine).

Ouch. Is there a difference between Creation Science and the Intelligent Design theories?

My personal belief is that God used the mechanisms documented by science in order to do His will...is that what Intelligent Design is, or no?

I'm not sure what I'll do for my children's education, whenever I have kids. I do not want my children in public school for K-8 if I can avoid it. Children at that time are very vulnerable and need a supportive moral environment. I did have a good experience in a Christian school for 1 year, but I also saw things I found disturbing there, too (some Christians who behaved in hateful ways and justified it with God's name...hmm, there'll be another post related to that in a few minutes...). I'll go to any lengths to make sure my child gets a proper education, though, even if that should mean home-schooling.

Yeah ... well it is the news article... and when I have a woman I can call my own wife and start a family. I will be sure to see that the kids get a Christian education with strong emphasis on the KJV Holy Bible and very strong doctrincal and healing included too , The 3 in 1 is also God Himself and if the times become more worse then home schooling with Christian resources will be manadated. Strong Christian character and moral values. We used to have excellent schools, military schools , Christian schools and girls only schools things like that before the multi culture and liberal take over of America happened. Now we are resisting the liberal agenda that they have for America. :) :thumb:

I can agree with all that, but I also want my children to learn not to be ashamed of their bodies, as many Christians teach. Body shame is NOT a family value.
