“How Do I Say Hi?” convention and comedy show is coming to Owens Community College this Friday. The event aims to give residents insight into American Sign Language and Deaf Culture.
How Do I Say Hi? runs from 9am to 5pm on Friday, September 7th and has opportunities for the public to learn about deaf culture, work practice, and storytelling and poetry.
The event will be followed by a two-hour comedy show starting at 7pm featuring nationally known educators and performers Keith Wann, Peter Cook, Crom Saunders and Windell “Wink” Smith Jr. The comedy show will include improve and stand-up performances all in American Sign Langauge.
Owens' Office of Disability Services, Student Government and Raising Awareness Club will hold the event at Audio/Visual Classroom Center. Tickets for the comedy show are $10.
