Spider Bite

I have this what looks like an insect bite on my right arm. Its very red (about 4 cm), swollen, itches, and uncomfortable. I don't see any holes where the spider bit, but I've been getting a really bad headache all day long, felt feverish and weak.

It happened yesterday while riding my 4-wheeler and stopped by the creek to swim.

I'm thinking its an insect bite but does it make you that weak or sick?

Need some advice!!
 
My brother had a spider bite on his neck while he was sleeping in his own bed!! Then I won't able to sleep! :laugh2: But it's little different than yours, after a spider bite, his face was freakin' swollen!!!! When he woke up, and he cannot see well because his eyebrows already swollen and blocked his eyesight. He didn't know what to do then he went to the hospital and taking medicine for swell down or something. The doctor said he's allergic to the spider...

I looked at the pix and it doesn't look like that. Maybe I'm just allergic to insect bites or could be a different spider that have a very small portion of poison venom. I'll keep an on it and make sure it doesn't get any worse. Thanks for helping! :ily:

That's pretty scary to think you got bit on the face! :Ohno: Never know what comes to you while you're sleeping!!!! but glad your brother is okay now!

No matter what you say about kind of spiders, RebelGirl but it still make sure. I would advise you to check with your doctor. Safety is Safety than be sorry later.

It got my hubby's leg like this. He went to doctor right way after few days painful.
 
I would suggest you see doctor, RebelGirl...and please post after you find out from doctor and let me know what it was. The reaction you have is severe and could be serious. If it was brown recluse spider, it has chain reactions like loss of nerves, swollen, bad balance, etc that last for many years. Better than safe than sorry and go to doctor for your (and our) peace of mind.
 
Oh, that was few years ago. When I found out, I wanted to see his face! After he left the hospital, he seems little swollen face likes a balloon. :twisted:
 
I recommend you to see the dr.. My old friend who lived few blocks from where I lived. She had spider bites which it was serious.
 
i always getting bug bite or spider bite on my hand , ear , eye area! .. grr so i did go see dr abt it, she told me that i am allergy of any bugs which bite on my skin .... they said using CORTIZONE CREAM on reddish spots .. or taking 2 pills of BENDRYL so it will go away!

I hate that spider! I surprised to see the picture. I have seen one at my sister's horse farm. I spray with water to keep it away from the farm door. I wanted to kill it, but afraid that it might jump on my leg and bite it. I bet that there are some spiders in the barn. Oh brother! What happen to that man that got infected from that damn spider? I gotta nuke them.
 
I heard that a deaf guy from Mississippi got bit by Brown Recluse and he didn't survive. Not sure if its true.
 
yeah a guy from KY as i heard from the news few years ago......... he worked on his horses @ his barn ... he cleaned hays out , somehow 3 recluse spiders bited on his legs which he didnt know it was recluse spider as he thought it was Wood Spider ... so few days later, he got dizzy , throw up , bodyache, turn in clammy skin , pale .. and realized on his legs which got many blisters as eaten skin as holes u know ... so his wife took him to hospital , tests on that holes on his legs.. found out that he got infected and spread arond on his legs from RECLUSE SPIDER BIT ... so there hardly to rid of that by cures.. all drs/nurse nursing him at hospital for almost 8 months.. finally he survived!! but after 2 years later he became a BLIND person from that spider caused! ... Sad!!!

ahh ouch... i didnt know how dangerous the brown recluse spider was. i think i saw some are like that type. but i never bother them. i rarely kill the spider. i usually pull them onto paper and toss them outside. i like spiders bec they kills BUGS for us. :)

Spiders: Hobo or Brown Recluse

I have been bitten by spiders. The last 3 times were in the last 5 years. The first 2 bites were not felt. I did not feel any bite, but moments later found I had been bitten after I looked at my skin on my hand wondering why my hand was itching so much. The pain and swelling had begun. I realized I was bitten by a spider, but had no idea what spider it was. I have to assume that it was the hobo so I grabbed my own medication I kept handy in case. I put several drops of colloidal silver on the bite area every 5 minutes and poured some in my mouth and kept in my mouth for 3 minutes and swallowed the liquid. I repeated both ways (internal and external). The pain and swelling stopped and was cured in approximately 20 minutes, believe it or not! The third bite was immediate pain on one of my fingers and it was at night so I could not see the spider. I figured it to be a black widow and the pain was very intense. I used colloidal silver for that also and the pain stopped and the poison was gone just like the first 2 bites from the hobo.
The most interesting thing about bites from Hobo spider is that people can't feel the bite. I rather be bitten by a black widow and have immediate pain, because if a person is unaware he/she was bitten by a hobo or brown recluse, the victim of spider bite naturally would be sitting reading a book or doing something without hurrying to the emergency room at the hospital until it is too late. Another thing... the Hobo spider looks much like the Brown Recluse. What is the difference between both spiders? The Hobo does not hide and is moving about even outside in sunlight. It does keep itself in shade. The Brown Recluse hides in undisturbed places where there is always dark rooms. This spider favor places that never have been lighted or disturbed for long periods of time. I was told by a friend, one lady got bit in the basement by putting on old clothes that was stacked away in a box for a very long time. She was not aware she was bit on the leg below the knee (calf) until she looked at her leg. The skin around the bite area was white and the middle where the bite was had sunken down into her leg like it was a pit. She went to the hospital. The next day under doctor's care, the skin had fallen off like it rotted away. But now she has a scar on her leg, but she is lucky to be alive.
So if you are going to reach behind a curtain or vertical blinds or to pick up a pencil dropped on the floor near kitchen cabinet or put on old clothes stacked away in a basement, be sure you look first before reaching your hand or leg inside or under something where it would block view of your hand or leg. I always have colloidal silver handy in cases like these. I hate spiders! I don't like the pain the Black Widow gives, but the immediate pain is the signal for you to take immediate action for first aid.
 
What's colloidal silver? I've actually never heard of that. Where can I find that? at a pharmacy?

Right now, the swell has gone down and doesn't feel burned or anything.. just itches a little.


I haven't gone to the dr.. I hate drs but if I really have to do that, I would go.

I got bit before on my left arm and was sick for a week.. the dr gave me antibiotics and it helped.. but this time is a little different. I don't have a bite mark showing. It just red and itching, at first it was swollen now its gone.
 
Wow. That's something new to me. I have a colloidal silver bottle for my nasal spray. I never thought of your suggestion. I use meat tenderizer power with a few drop of water (mixed with the power), and put it on my finger. It works fine. I think that the colloidal silver would be the best solution.

I have seen some colloidal silver bottles at most health food stores.
