Sorenson VP update screwup?

look at update server ftp://ftp.sorenson.com/vrs/config.txt
this was VERSION=1.6.800.800 after new upgrade showing VERSION=1.6.900.700
there no showing file txt in same path server!!!! Guess they re changed name server ftp..... after upgrade i think.....

I saw the update today and wondered what was new since the last update few weeks ago after they announced in email to vp100 users about upcoming update. hmm...

It was in Feb 2nd email sent to everyone on Sorenson's mailing list

*VP-100 FIRMWARE UPDATE
Within the next 5-7 days, you will receive a software update notice on your VP-100 videophone. This update will provide greater stability for the VP-100. The VP-100 will tell you when the software update is available. You do not need to do anything until you are prompted by the VP-100. After 5-7days, if you have not been prompted by the VP-100 to update the software, please contact Sorenson VRS support:

That was for updating to 1.6.800.800 but not the latest one which I got few days ago.. so I guess there were two updates this month.. and I don't know what the 2nd update which updates to 1.6.900.700 is for.. :dunno:

I guess only fixing firmware and there nothing add features!! I noticed after upgrade seem more often lost connect direct to server!!
Like D/S...

that could be the reason... maybe
 
and if you guys have Soreson VRS routers SR-200 there's new firmware update 1.1 at http://www.sorensonvrs.com/router/index.php which finally is stable and let me use it longer than before it was in 1.0 which I had to take router offline and go with extra ip address..

for advanced users only! If you do not know how to update the router then don't attempt it and just contact your installer or tech support :)

router was d-link model 604? that they srn vrs remove orginal firmware to vp 200?

HEHE~! yeah but not for me! Just another custom has probleme with it exemple many vp probleme with VCR back A/V or Modulator RF too!! and sometime OLD TV has malfunction with vp!!!
If New tv could be better!!!
 
yeah it is based on 604 but it has sorenson gui though.. the original firmware like 1.0 was never on their site. just 1.1

What the point sorenson want own firmware router than orginal D-link router ?

I will try upgrade firmware from Soreson VRS routers SR-200 to see what compare!!!
 
I think cuz sorenson provide support to their SR-200 not D-Link's so 604 user has to get update from d-link directly I guess that's the difference.

There is no difference. The SR-200 is simply Sorenson's logos and name brand on the D-Link 604 router, and they're pre-set to allow only Sorenson VRS to work. You can easily do that if you know which settings to put in yourself, and configure it easily for any VRS instead of just Sorenson.

dennis you are very very very god damn wrong

difference only between dlink 604 and sr 200 is the preset of dmz at 192.168.0.125. you reset the sr200 router no need to bother the dmz setting

dlink vp will still work with sr 200 but after 7/1/06 you re sucker have two videofones
