Sorenson VP update screwup?

Hi there!! Has any one noticed screwups with Sorenson VP after they got their new updates? Before we got the update, we could chat on VP with other deafies in "real time" conversation. Now it seems like after the update, everything is delayed about 5 seconds or so. I thought it was just me, but the people who I call/talk with on vp, they said they noticed a 5 second delay with their friends/families and so on. Any one else notice this with their VP?

Before update..it was GREAT...now after update it seems like 5 second delay. Hmmmm I know the update is only for 40 missed calls..but...it cant be me since so many other people have same problem.
 
That sounds like the FCC's "indecency filter" going on LOL.

Check your networking setting to see if Obtain IP address automatically exist. What I just heard is that Sorenson decided to disable this feature and use phone number instead. Without IP address, it would surely slow down the network because it just added confusion as Internet depends on IP address heavily.

Haven't noticed any problems. It works the same as it did before. Check your speed settings.
 
Today, I havent been able to contact a few clients that use the Sorenson system because of the update. I was able to do it last week. Now the recent update is preventing deaf people that use the Sorenson from getting the help they need from orgs that dont use the Sorenson system.

That is because your device has not yet updated! Once it is updated, there WILL be problem waiting for you. I have seen problem starting to pop up starting 2 days ago.

Yes, my device already had updated last Friday. It was fine while chatted with friend today.
 
Problem Fixed!

Hey gang! Biker...and the rest of you gang...I called Sorenson VRS tech support...and pardon my signs (mouth) but the one I got last night was an idiot. He said my delay was caused by high speed..said I needed to come down on speed. I told him..IMPOSSIBLE..me fine for almost 1 1/2 years using same speed..and update..bam..screw everything up. Tech said it was speed..PERIOD. I got pissed and told him he didnt know anything. I play around with speed...same thing..no difference. I called different people and still delay. SVRS agent complain my speed delay. UGH!! I call Sorenson VRS tech support again..and BAM...same idiot tech support. He said that me am only 1 person who have problem...never other people complain. I told him B.S. other people I know have same problem. So I told him that I am going to do hard reset on my router..push the button on back of my dlink 604 and do hard reset. He said "thats good idea..why not try that?" So I reset...then go back into router and reset my DMZ and everything. Go back to Sorenson and check everything. I call my mom...and now it work! No delay! I call VRS 'terp and it work! No delay!! Yay!! No thanks to the Tech Support!!
 
In other words, it wasn't the update that screwed up. It was your own network problem.
 
Oh dang! I forgot all about this part resetting the router. Yep, that is one of problems.

I was chatting with friends on VP.. I was having delays as well, I guess I'll reset my router and see if it works. My friend's VP isn't working and she's going to have it replaced soon. She has no picture coming up, just changing colors from orange to pink to yellow, etc.. All that was after we updated the VP. So, I take it just about MOST of those who have VP have problems.. Just need adjustments...

vp at both side must have update so that each vp can call each other. your complaint is baseless and meaningless

i thought you anti sorenson but you have sorenson vp? duh

right on almost all problems are at vp side, not at soresnon.

try slowing down speed down to 256k both directions to see if it works, then increase one step at a time to see. 1 1/2 years is nothing.

some people curious 512k both directions when the connection bottlenecked. they say it work but hey look the status connection to see the actual number

After the recent new software update did you know that sorenson began keeping track on all of your incoming and outgoing calls for their internal moderated analysis plus disables to your unit anytime without your knowledge? suggest next time if you make any more inflammatory comments about srneson in public, sorenson would cheerfully disables to your unit and making it rendered useless. So, treat nice to sorenson as you treat nice to your pussy girlfriend.

Note after you accept with the consent to use sorenson free VP unit
for the first time back then you already released all of your calling
privacy to sorenon :cuddle: Don't like it? call tech Suport to return
your vp unit :thumb:

Prevent HOW?! The update doesnt really affect people using IP dialing method, only to those people who uses VP dialing method. I think you heard deafies having problem with the update firmware and the solution is already pointed out in various source like qwerty123's post. So I am guessing you are trying to make the little fish into a big fish.

Richard, at least please try to see Sorenson's view on this. At first it was hard to understand, but as time goes, I am starting to understand why they do this. It is hard to explain how. It is like explaining how the salt taste. it is nearly impossible to explain how it taste, so the only way to do is to TASTE, so my point, UNDERSTAND them, ASK them why they do it, and you should get answer that make sense. I did my part (ask them, see their view, tell them how we feel, they explain more on why, etc) and I am safisty with it. I support Sorenson because those things make sense. I somehow regret making negative posts here, but it happens.

To those people who reads Richard (NeSmith post). He is in struggling of understand and when we ask him questions that shows the answer is on sorenson's side, he refuse to discuss any further and change the subject. You can see his posts history, he have history of not answering posts when the cat caught his tongue.
