This is called reasonable doubt, you already have reasonable doubt on this case, and if I were the 13th juror, I can't vote guilty on this one.

I can see why he might have removed it. These types of smoke detector designed for the Deaf is MUCH louder than the regular smoke detector. It can me nuisance to him with false alarm. Now the question is, why no mention of accelerants?

I don't believe every investigators are that honest or has 100% integrity in them. That is why we have jurors to protect these innocent accusers.

Did he actually wake them up to get out? If so, then why was he charged with attempted murder?

A real warning is a child that's not a working or an active participant in society, who's living at home rent free, and expecting his parents to pay for the pleasure of having him as a son....they should have gotten help to have him forcibly removed.

No, what's sad is that a family is destroyed and left wondering where they failed. And a young man, who may never have had a good head on his shoulder, will probably spend his life in jail. That's a tragedy whether the parents are deaf or not....

I have seen some parents are very sad for very long time after their child got in serious trouble, especially major crime.

There is lack of detail with story to determine about his problem, but drug addict is keyword.

He's drug addict - it already devastated his life and I'm curious about why he chose to addict to the drug.

They facts they have right now are that he stole from his parents the day before, the fire was intentionally set and the flasher was removed. That is a pretty strong circumstantial case. I suspect he will enter a guilty plea.

I noticed that someone mention about video game? That's most ridiculous thinking. I live with my relative family and I played video game for many years - so I'm nowhere to be closer to this crazed man who set on fire and break any laws.

The drug addict is pretty dangerous.

If they have evidence that man is very motivated to kill his parent, so I could see him as guilty on attempted murder.

Maybe he forgot to extract the PIN to their ATM card. All in the heat of the moment, ya know?



I hope they lock him up and throw the key away. Actually, I'd prefer the death penalty but I can be a bit intolerant at times. I feel terrible for the parents.

Dunno, but I did read that he ran from the interview with Sheriffs. That is another bad sign.

I was thinking the same thing. He will probably get a generous plea deal. 1) Beacause of this and 2) Because his parents will probably request it. They have coddled him by letting him live at home despite drug and legal problems up to this point so I expect them to come to the rescue here too.

I agree. I do hope the judge at least place a no contact order to protect the parents. Until the suspect complies with the stipulations the judge may order for him.
