Hi everyone,

While browsing the Internet, I came across a website which published several posts on alldeaf (including two of mine). I thought I'd let you all know this in case you've posted private information about yourselves.

The website is:

If you look at the website, you'll notice two posts that were written by me. (One is under the thread "For Pinky" and the other is under "Robo Calls." To find these posts, scroll down and it will be located on the right hand side of the page.)

I know alldeaf is a public forum (i.e. you can find posts by doing a Google search), but I have to admit that I was a bit surprised to find posts from AD published on this website.

I use Google to search for threads/posts in AllDeaf and have done this for like three years now.

I've done the same thing. However, I was surprised to find AD posts on this particular website.

Good. I hope Alex makes that request. As I said, I know AD is a public forum, but I'm bothered by the fact that our posts were unknowingly published on a website for interpreters.
 
Well, HearAgain, just consider yourself famous! woohoo!

Actually I find it hard to copyright or formally restrict all the responses on a public forum, except those posts permanently removed by mods?
 
Yes I knew about it. I was kind of not comfortable about it but oh well it is public forum.
 
I had a similar discussion the other day with my pastor who left a comment on his facebook page to the effect of 'We have blurred the line of privacy when we read other people's 'walls'.

I left a comment under his that read, "People VOLUNTARILY post such things. If someone wants to keep a secret, he should keep it to himself."

The same applies here. If you do not wish to have other people know about it, simply do not post it.
