Do you want abolish the SSI? How does disabled, blind or anyone who unable to work due medical reason could survive without money? It does include for deaf people who unable to find job at any reason.

He's not saying that! Nothing about abolishing SSI. He's noting the problems of where the money comes from to support SSI.

That's fine where you and your clients are concerned and all as it is the law, their right, etc. But it seems to me the"here and now" as regards our lawmakers sure made for a mess that many outsiders saw years ago.

End of third...Lakers up by about 14. Cya!

We haven't had good representation in a generation. I personally believe we should cut Congress in half. Leads to half the opinions and half the debate. Saves alot of money too.

Did I ask you? If no then hush up.

No, I want oversight of the funds so they are not lost to fraud

Ye gods, PFH, your sig line is huge! and it's been getting bigger compared to the last time I noticed it.

To me it's simple. No more borrowing from social security. Secure investments allowing the fund to grow.

End social security as a retirement except for people choose to pay into it as such. Let people that wish to invest in something other than the government do so.

How it would work

If you chose to use SS for your retirement nothing changes.

If you chose to invest money is still withheld the same way. Half of your contribution goes into the charity fund and the other half is invested for you in a investment acct. in which you can chose where the funds are invested but can not withdraw until you reach 65. At 65 you may withdraw all of the funds or choose monthly payments. You will no be entitled to any other payment from SS but will be eligible for Medicare since half of your contribution went to that pool
I'll take it. That sounds a lot better than what we have now. However, if I had my druthers, I would have the federal government gradually pull out of the entitlement business altogether and hand the reigns over to the state governments. When governments mismanage things, like they tend to do, the damage is limited when it's done on a smaller scale. That's why I'm glad to be in Texas instead of California. Additionally, if one state wants to pick the Ponzi route and another state wants to go the individual accounts route, I can move and be happy without having to leave the country.

Exactly, DD. A much better way of doing things and help minimize any potential damage.

The way I see it, if you want to speak your mind. Don't tell others to hush up. If you do want them to hush up then you hush up also. It works both ways.

I'm just ask directly to txgolfer, not you, kokonut or others because I don't get his views at first place.

You need to hush up too, why bother to discuss about my post since my question is only directly to txgolfer.
