I am a soccer player, who is hearing (even though I can't hear as well as others.. everything is quieter for me but I can still hear), and is currently learning ASL. When I graduate I plan to go into the field of education. I have discovered that I feel a calling in ASL, and would love to become fluent in ASL..That's just a little backstory for you guys though.

I do not mean to offend anyone by any means with the following question. It's just something I wonder about.

How do deaf (or Deaf.. I'm still confused to the lower and upercase thing....) soccer players communicate on the field? Are there signs? Or is it just a simple understanding thing?

I think one day, I would love to teach at a Deaf school and coach soccer. It's an option..

I don't play soccer. It would be helpful to be good at ASL before coaching deaf team or working at deaf school.

I wish you the best luck.

First of all I am sorry your sport happens. To be soccer, most americans prefer football.
On the question of communication during a soccer match I think deaf could have an advantage since the can sign their intentions without the opponent knowing anything.
Other than that using signs during sports is nothing special.
