Sk3 Has Problems, Don't Get Wrong, I Do Still Love Sk3

i understand that sk3 can standby up to 3 days, but it dies quicker than it is expected. it should be 5 or 7 days, but not.

most mobiles can standby up to 7 days, but i dont buy that ! i put my pda on charger every night before i go to bed.

i hope that sk3 battery issue ll be fixed ASAP for those sk3 loyalists.

Doofus, Yes I never had complaint about SK1 AND SK2 unitl I am little bit disappoint that SK3 has SHORT BATTERY LIFE unlike previous SK1 AND SK2 had long batterylife like standby 3 days without charge.

I dislike SK3 keep me charge on it two times or three times a day.. that is SUX!

i have sk3 and im using AOL mail... look back on catlog and u might find them now...

How much if I want to upgrade to SK3? I just re-contracted with SK2 last feburary because my last year SK2 has went bad.

I was contracted with MR CARTOON SK2 last dec. Now I just recontract with SK3. I dont think so that I break policy and agreement of contract with sk2, because I switch it to SK3 with contract two years..

you can order it through UPGRADE HERE , You will receive SK3 IN FEW DAYS and They bill you later.. Thats what I've done!

I did called T mobile few days ago with techincian support. Did told them that everytime i charged it. and battery strength reduce so fast in 2 to 3 hours. so i give 2 more days. Still same. So Tmobile said it could be weak SK3 in bad techinican eat battery or bad battery. So they will resend me another one. They even did mention, they can be eat battery little fast than SK2 depends on room temperature, how much u use, usage, charges. They said for battery 5 hours for talk, and 10 hours for usage.

I give you some tips:


You have to turn the device back on and check the battery meter and display showing about ??% charge, [if not 100%].

turn the device off once again and continuing charge it the rest of the night/ day. The next day turn device on and check the display of the battery and read if 99%.

Again turn the device shown down and re-charge it. So give an another 4 hours as let it charge.

turn device on and re-check it again and if 100% or not!

JUST BE PATIENT AND CHARGE TO REACH BATTERY METER 100% ..

The upgrade system on T-mobile.com is a joke. $399 for the SK3 plus $35 activication and $9.95 for shipping total $445....where's the discount? There's not even rebates for existing users! I guess I'd have to walk in to get an upgrade instead of online. The problem is that I ain't ending up with a bad batch and trying to deal with the bugs and problems, I'll just wait til my contract ends on my old sk2 on Jan 2007. If it's $99...I'll take it.

I don't know if the offer is for all tmobile customers but I would be able to purchase the sk III online granted that I sign up for a 2 year contract for a reduced price of $299. I think that's still rediculous, I'll wait until the next big thing comes out and prices drop.

Can you order on Harris Communcation website? It will take some time to release on this website, probably on July 10 or so.

I ordered in Harris Communcation in 2004 and its good price with one year contract. Now, my contract was expired on Dec 2005 but I can't wait to check new Sidekick 3 on Harris Communcation website soon.

I agree that price for existing consumer need to upgrade for discount then T-Mobile need change their price if treat fairly to them.

Why BIG hurry to buy sk3 when it come out?

It's waste your time. You get bug or bad hardware then send to danger or whatever for repair. No point to buy when it come out.

Same idea you buy xbox360 when it come out and it have problem with overheat for GPU and CPU already. U should learn how to be WAIT till right time for low price and final verison.

Did you know that new version xbox360 come with HD-DVD and HDMI port already?

I bought a sk3 (total price is 406.59 dollars) without a contract, today. I am really happy about it. It is smaller and way better than SK2. It has faster processor which means it allows u to change the programs 10 times quickly than sk2. The internet browser is awesome, faster than sk2 as long as it has EDGE( avaiable in my area). If it is as same as SK2, wait for edge avaiable in your area. The trackball is a killer, if you asked my opinion. As far as I know, people only have a huge issue is the battery which is shorter than sk2. Actually it solve the problem, you must let it drains battery FIRST until itself shut down and then recharge it to a full bars. If it is longer than sk2 or you expect and then it successful and will run 14 hours to 18 hours or longer. If not , repeat 2 to 3 times. 95 percents people do that and it is succuessful. After 3 tried, you have a bad battery charger and call tmobile to exchange or send you a replacement one. Other features such as 1.3 megapixel digital camera is awesome and MP3 player is great for HOH and hearing people.

The two best devices for deaf community is SK3 and Blackberry 8700p or whatever. By the way, hiptop is already developed a program as software for video player and will be released in fall 2006 or first quater of 2007.

Now I have experiecned with a sk 2 and a sk3. Sk3 smoked sk2, no question asked.

I'm sure they will sell the batteries in future, just like the idea NOKIA batteries they sell extras and the "HOUSING" charger that you can put extra battery in while other battery in cellphone charging too..

Guarantee to bite your wallet with the monthly service plan. It's $49 a month because of the Edge connection speed which is faster than the one for $29 a month with slow dial up-like speeds. I am not one of them that who wants to pay $50 a month for internet/e-mail on a mobile device.

The unlimited data plan costs as same as before. $29.99 dollars. For prepaid sk2 and sk3 users, u don't have to worry about monthly, just pay refill(25, 50 or 100 dollars) one dollar a day. For edge connection, it already includes if you use a sk3 but not all avaiable in usa. Tmobile starts spreading all the usa.

P.S. No contract for having an unlimited data plan service.

There is no different speed for web browser unless it is on edge which is faster than sk2 dial up.
