(Mods: Not sure if this fits under "our World, our culture" or "on-topic debate"...or something fun-related??]
I am sure many of you know the phrase based on the "Six Degrees to Kevin Bacon"... they even got a game for him.
Anyway, the point of this thread is to name your six-degrees-of-separation to famous people. The rules: (1)you must be connected to that person in less than six degrees and (2) more than one degree!
How do you count a degree? A degree is the LINK you have between YOURSELf to a person... then if that person knows somebody else, that counts as a LINK which brings you to the total of TWO.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_degrees_of_separation said:Six degrees of separation is the theory that anyone on the planet can be connected to any other person on the planet through a chain of acquaintances that has no more than five intermediaries. The theory was first proposed in 1929 by the Hungarian writer Frigyes Karinthy in a short story called Chains.

Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon:
The Game
Armed with that list, we invite you to play our version of the Kevin Bacon game with a distinctly Louisville twist. We're going to give you a half-dozen names to chain to Bacon, all of them with at least one ATL star alum as a possible link, sometimes more. (Bacon himself doesn't count, since he's a given.) Each time you use one of the ATL alums in a chain, you receive five points.
In addition, we invite you to come up with your own chains with any actor/actress you want -- including ATL alums -- at the end and Bacon at the start. You must make the chain between them and Bacon in six or fewer links. For each ATL alum you are able to use in your chain, you again collect five points. Also, in keeping with the original ground rules of the Kevin Bacon game, you can link through television shows, but the performer has to be a regular and not a guest or cameo. And while cameos in theatrical-release movies count, those in made-for-TV movies don't. It has to be a real part, not just a few seconds on-screen. You can also link through an ATL production.
Why should you want to go to all this trouble -- besides the fact that once you start, this Kevin Bacon thing proves downright addictive? Well, the folks at ATL have offered a prize you simply can't refuse: a 1997-'98 Actors' season subscription for two. We'll award it to the person who scores the most points.
So sharpen your wits and pencils and E-Mail your lists to us time-stamped by April 15 (since this is such a taxing contest). We'll announce the winner in our July "Best of Louisville" issue. In the case of a tie, we'll think of something. Louisville magazine staff members and their immediate families as well as ATL employees and cast members are, of course, not eligible for the prize, but are welcome to play for the fun of it.
When you write your chains, you must tell us the film or TV show the link is made through. As an example, here's how we connect Kevin Bacon to the Alien in Alien:
Kevin Bacon was in Footloose with Dianne Weist,
who was in The Birdcage with Gene Hackman,
who was in The Firm with Holly Hunter,
who was in Copycat with Sigourney Weaver,
who was in Alien with the Alien.
That's five links. You would have earned 10 ATL points for that sequence if we hadn't thought of it first.
Now it's your turn:
FIRST LINKS:
Connect Kevin Bacon to the following stars using at least one Actors Theatre alum in the chain:
1) Wilford Brimley
2) Audrey Hepburn
3) "Marky" Mark Wahlberg
SECOND HELPING:
Link Kevin Bacon to these ATL alums (Yep, you get five points for each alum we've named):
1) Pamela Reed
2) John Turturro
3) Timothy Busfield
PIG OUT:
Create your own chains to any star you want using as many ATL alums as possible, but at least one in any chain. Remember, chains can be as short as one (a direct link), but may not have more than six links. You get five points for each ATL alum you list. You may not use the same alum more than once in any single chain, but you may use them as many times as you like in different chains.
