Silent Revolution: Deaf demand to be seen and heard in Russia

I took a course in Russian history at college hoping it would help me understand my dad better as he was born in Russia. I asked my professor how deaf and HOH people were treated in Russia and she told that deaf and HOH kids were locked up and forgotten about! This really helped me understand why my dad abused me and rejected me as child. It did not made is any easier for me but I learned that my dad was told deaf and HOH people were no good and that damages people! I hope this revolution will bring some changes for the deaf in Russia!

My cousin who is playing for Russia Deaf Women Soccer team, and they won 1st place in all tournaments for 5 straight years. Putin called the team to visit his office in Kremlin, had a good dinner with Putin and his campaign, and have them do the group picture with Putin in it. I'll find photos in her FB, and post it here asap.
