Ok, before I ask my question, I just feel I have to admit I'm not deaf. I learned a whole bunch about deaf culture while I was at RIT, and when I Googled for help and saw the link here, I thought I'd give it a shot.

I recently had to switch from my Blackberry Pearl to a Sidekick Slide (I lost my Blackberry Pearl when I had to dump my bike and it went flying somewhere into the void that is Las Vegas). I have my contact backups from my Pearl and can export to any format imaginable. Is there a way to get any of those formats into my Slide so I don't have to re-type every single contact? I have the USB cable and such.

Do you have your T-mobile account for Blackberry Pearl?

I already have the information from my Blackberry backed up. The problem is I no longer have the Blackberry. I was riding home from work and a cab almost sideswiped me, I had to lay down my bike to keep from crashing and the phone was in a belt holster. It must have went flying off somewhere.

YOu should ask the service to disconnect that BB at once, just in case someone finds it and uses it where you will end up with a nasty bill where you would be told to pay for. If you are with T-mobile, they should be able to retrieve the information unless correct me, if I'm wrong

I had it turned off within an hour, so that's not a problem. I knew it would be an issue, especially here (Las Vegas) as there's a fairly large number of people who immigrated and some of the less honest ones use stolen/found cell phones to call friends and family overseas.

I managed to finally find a workaround. I had my .ipd file from my Blackberry, and I had Amber Blackberry Converter (a great! program to have if you use a Blackberry) so I exported them into Outlook, then exported them from Outlook to an Outlook CSV file, which T-Mobile's online tools can accept and automatically send to the Sidekick.

Bit of a long way around, but it seems that they didn't want people having too much access to the Sidekicks from their PC.

Good! replacement Sidekick and no penalty on your T-Mobile contact. Good luck!
