Sidekick/inside Amtrak-AutoTrain

Ok, I'm gonna check this, too...

See this for example....

I order a ticket from March 25 to April 25

Pittsburgh, PA to Houston Texas would be

coach class

$147.00

then you want 1st class

it is

$76.00

The total is $223.00

Which is not too bad.

Diehardbiker, I think you misunderstood what Amtrak was trying to tell you and I did a check on prices.

They do the same thing in the airline industry. One seat in coach class will cost $150. then first class will be $300.

Y, I am not sure if the Auto Train takes passengers, too....

Yes it does. I went on the Amtrak Auto Train when I traveled from Florida to Virginia. My Jeep Cherokee was taken inside the train car filled with other cars and I was in the passenger area of the train. All I did was to sit back and relax :)

Yes, I just got back home today after
checking with Amtrak/Auto Train front desk
discovering that I can purchase first class
at the same time bring my own car...
plus meal included... I look forward to
go down to Florida reading magazines
newspaper sleep relax on a solo trip !
Probably very soon :)

P.S. I feel lucky & blessed that I happen to
live pretty near that station.

Funny thing you were going to the opposite
directions ahaha !

I will bring my BMW with me to the Amtrak
because of very high mileages (over 300,000 miles)
it's still a good car though I have another
old Jeep Waggoner (almost look like Cherokee, too) !!

Amtrak charge you less if you bring a smaller car...

Yes, that is correct. I was charged a bit more with my Jeep Cherokee :(
(I sold my Cherokee last year.)

Don't know if ya'll know this but Amtrak offers fare discount to disabled people. Also, if you have a service dog they, of course, ride for free but what is neat is they get their own ticket.

That is right, only problem is that you MUST call Amtrak in order to get that kind of discount.
