Why? It would make quick communicate and save our time on long-distance from the telephone bill in old day. Well, it's too late. Thank to videophone that solve the deaf's problem who had to use for more watts to spend on electric bills. HaHa!

I guess no deaf care about typing something. Something the invent wouldn't give what deaf want to make more comfortable until many years later. And finally, there is videophone. It took so long time. Old goats finally see and use before they die.
 
That is a good idea, but remember, those machines are less perfect than TTYs. Look at how many spelling errors there are on closed captioning. It is not spelling errors because the stenographer is dumb, it's the limit of the machine. If we were making a relay call to the doctor, for example, imagine the misunderstandings if the machine spelled something wrong.
