LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) A suspect is now in custody after a man was shot today near a school.

Just before 3 p.m. today police responded to a shooting on Markham, which was later discovered to be at the Arkansas School for the Deaf and the Blind. According to initial reports, a black male was shot once in the chest.

He tried transporting himself to a hospital, but an ambulance picked him up and drove him the rest of the way.
