Shadows of the Night
In the shadows of the night
He haunts me, I see his face
The tears fall from his dark eyes
How can I sleep in this craze
I lie awake wondering
Hoping that for one night
He will leave me alone
Or must I wait until the light
Sometimes I hear him calling out my name
It's a cry for help, a scream
But at the same time, it's a whisper
Reality is not there, it feels like a dream
I can feel his hurt
I feel his pain
Sometimes I ignore it
To keep me from going insane
So tonight I lay here waiting
