Sexual assault hot line expands to serve deaf

The Southern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault has expanded its hot line to serve those who are deaf or hard of hearing, according to an announcement from the organization.

The TYY crisis hotline can be reached at 327-1721 and is operable 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

The regular crisis line is also available at all hours at 327-7273 to serve survivors of sexual violence.

This is great! As a member of a SART team, I am on call to respond to any deaf victims. Unfortunately, they must get in contact with the crisis center or the hospital before I am paged in.
