How funny this is after I have repeatedly said that there are NO enforcement mechanisms in place in the HR 3200 to ensure that they won't provide health care services to illegal aliens? Yet, I was told, "Read the bill! Read the bill" when I did, in parts not all, especially the illegal aliens part and that I even pointed out a few times the CRS report which supported my statement as well.

Read the bill? Did you reall, really read all of the 1017 pages of the bill?

Sure. Might want to pull up that pants of yours first.

And it had to take a "You lie!" to get Democrats scurrying back into their chambers to look at the language again?? Hello, McFly!! Did they not read the CRS report that was available for three weeks?

Friggin unreal. They're desperate for any kind of bargaining chips right now.

Now, they'll need to address Section 152 regarding no discrimination against those who want health care, which means anybody including illegal aliens else it'll contradict the no health care provision to illegal aliens. Another loop.

The controversy over Republican Rep. Joe Wilson's shouting out "You Lie!" at the President over his claim that illegal immigrants wouldn't benefit from health-care reform apparently sparked some reconsideration of the relevant language. "We really thought we'd resolved this question of people who are here illegally, but as we reflected on the President's speech last night we wanted to go back and drill down again," said Senator Kent Conrad, one of the Democrats in the talks after a meeting Thursday morning. Baucus later that afternoon said the group would put in a proof of citizenship requirement to participate in the new health exchange a move likely to inflame the left.
Can Obama Woo Skeptics After Health-Care-Reform Speech? - TIME

Knowing Obama's past and the things he WANTs to see in the HR 3200 bill are something we need to be aware of because he'll find a way to get those illegal aliens back on board somehow in time for the Immigration "Reform". Dems sure would like to see a new bunch of illegals to vote for them.

Still haven't read the bill, and still relying on someone else to tell you what it says. And you call yourself a pundit!

Pants on fire.

I read it weeks ago. Provided access to several other ADers that prefer to be informed and use primary sources instead of letting someone else tell them what it says. How about you? You read it yet? We all know Koko hasn't.

Kokonut, give up. You're WRONG. Joe's WRONG!

How convenient that so little is said about Joe Wilson's support for tax money for illegals:

"However, in 2003, Wilson voted to provide federal funds for illegal immigrants’ healthcare. The vote came on the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003, which contained Sec. 1011 authorizing $250,000 annually between 2003 and 2008 for government reimbursements to hospitals who provide treatment for uninsured illegal immigrants."

To be fair, Section 1011 is just a small part of a much larger bill that contained many Republican prioripties. Still, Wilson’s protest against the current healthcare reform proposal giving coverage to illegal immigrants (which is false), is in direct contradiction to his 2003 vote. Allowing illegal immigrants to purchase unsubsidized healthcare through the Exchange that would be set up under the current proposal wouldn’t cost taxpayers a cent, and it would be a step towards fixing the problem that Section 1011 was designed to throw federal money at."

Again, Kokonut, YOU ARE WRONG. Own it up.

wow Joe Wilson is a true hypocrite, as many conservative republicans.

Problem with your reasonings....

Democrats agreed that there is no enforcement mechanisms in the bill and that they "will" put in words saying that proof of citizenship is required in order to participate in the new health exchange in the bill. This is a tacit agreement that there are no real enforcement mechanisms that requires any proof of ID of an illegal alien before letting them in. I was right...all along.

Still this move creates an appearance that a loophole is closed. If you understand Obama's history you will realize he has always been for illegal aliens while as a Senator and give them amnesty and a very easy path to citizenship.
All Immigration Votes of Senator Barack Obama

But how can you trust the government who won’t stop illegal aliens from getting home loans? And let them write a health care bill that prevents them from getting government-subsidized insurance coverage?

You can't. Not when it comes to illegal aliens, ultimately so.

Then of course you'll have the upcoming Immigration bill where they'll try and turn 20 or so million illegal aliens quickly into legal immigrants. But that could be predicated on the successful passage of the HR 3200 bill.

:ty: I thought for a sec there it said that it was false that Joe Wilson shouted "You Lie!". Nah... it says Obama is telling the truth.

Willkommen :)

I prefer to check factcheck, snope.com or politifact over Republician´s media propaganda

Wilson's right. And his assertion is backed up by the Congressional Research Service that there are no enforcement mechanisms in the bill to verify citizenship status against illegal aliens.

You ALWAYS look for ways to make Joe right and face it, you and him are WRONG.

Once again, the bill said no coverage for illegals. It's that simple. end of discussion.

:deal:

Congressional Research Service says you're wrong, dude.

Why do you think they are NOW attempting to put in a requirement on proof of citizenship??

But even that alone won't help when we have another amnesty bill that will make illegal aliens into legal immigrants. PrestO changeO! *waves wand*

It's a sham built upon on lies after lies.

Yup, just ignore kokonut because he's looking for twist up and he knew that cannot win the debate but rather to act like loser.

Congressional Research Service read the bill and wrote up a non-partisan report saying that the HR 3200 bill does not have any enforcement mechanisms written in to ensure people receiving health care are not illegal aliens.

Read it. It's pretty clear, black and white.

Tell me, why is the Senate considering putting words right now, after the "You lie!" episode, into the bill that says people must provide proof of citizenship?

Please explain why.

A legal American applies for insurance and the insurance company asks him, "Are you an American, legally?" "Yes" "You're covered." If an illegal applies, the insurance company will say, "We don't cover you. Sorry." What happens if the illegal lies? He will likely have to foot the bill.

But if an illegal goes to ER, it does NOT matter at all if he is insured or not, he MUST be cared. It's the law. It doesn't MATTER if he has insurance or not.

ObamaCare is all about insurance for Americans. It doesn't provide insurance to illegals.

Why is this such a difficult concept for you to grasp?

I think he wants to muddy the issue.

It's clear in the CSR report. There is nothing in the bill that has an enforcement mechanism preventing illegals from getting their health care. Secondly, you have a section that covers discrimination that says no one is to be turned down for health care which conflicts with the no health care for illegals.

Of course, then you'll have the coming amnesty bill that'll turn illegals into legal immigrants and then you'll 20 or so million more people under the health care program.

No has provide any explanations on why Democrats all of a sudden is thinking about putting in a language in the bill that says you must show proof of citizenship. Care to explain why all of sudden they "thought of this" just after the "You Lie!" episode??

Yeah, come back to me again about who is muddying up the issue. And read the CRS report while you're at it, too.

I remain.....correct. There was no enforcement mechanisms to ensure illegals will not get into the health care program and that was lacking in the HR 3200 bill.

From MSNBC:

Today, for the first time as far as we know, the administration is backing a provision that would require proof of citizenship before someone could enroll in a plan selected on the exchange.

Here, the administration also concedes that hospitals would be compensated with public funds for the care of undocumented immigrants.

The bullet points sent tonight by the White House:

Undocumented immigrants would not be able to buy private insurance on the exchange. Those who are lawfully present in this country would be able to participate.
Undocumented immigrants would be able to buy insurance in the non-exchange private market, just as they do today. That market will shrink as the exchange takes hold, but it will still exist and will be subject to reforms such as the bans on pre-existing conditions and caps.

Verification will be required when purchasing health insurance on the exchange. One option is the SAVE program (Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements) which states currently use to make sure that undocumented immigrants don't participate in safety-net programs for which they are ineligible.

There would be no change in the law that requires emergency rooms to treat people who need emergency care, including undocumented immigrants. There is already a federal grant program that compensates states for emergency room costs associated with treatment of undocumented immigrants, a provision sponsored by a Republican lawmaker.

I don't think you have a clear mind anymore.

It is simply repeating what WH has been saying... no coverage for illegals. Didn't you read that provision? Guess not.

Let me repeat that provision:

SEC. 246. NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED
4 ALIENS.
5 Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments
6 for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are
7 not lawfully present in the United States.

Why does that NOT imprint on your mind?
