I have 2 different scenairos. I want to know how you would do it if you were the seller.
A. I want to sell my tool chest. Person #1 was interested. He said he'll pick it up later in the week. He said he doesn't know which day yet. We didn't make any plans, but he said he'll pick it up later in the week. Person #2 was interested and made plans within the hours to pick up the tool chest. Consider it sold.
Now my question is----will you contact person #1 and let them know it was sold? Or will you just not bother with it? Just figure that if they ask about it, just tell them it was sold.
B. I sold a snowblower on E Bay at end of April this year. The person talked to me before bidding on the machine. She told me that it'll take her 4-6 weeks to pick it up. I told her that was okay. I can hold it for her. She paid with Pay Pal. Then 3 month went by, then 4 months went by and she has not picked it up yet. Now she wants to pick it up.
I don't think that is fair for me to hold it for 3 or 4 months especially when she agreed that she would pick it up within 4-6 weeks.
I had thought----1. If she wants it, why not pay some money for storage since I held it for so long time? Should I have told her, you have 30 days to pick up this machine. If you don't pick it up, then it becomes mine. You lose money. Or should I just keep money and sell it somewhere else since she has not picked it up in timely manner?
What would you do??
