I remember reading a story of a couple who decided to sell ALL of their possession. Yes, I mean everything they owned. They went on to sell everything they owned. They decided to not have a house or apartment yet. They decided to go on a long honeymoon together. You know explore the world.

The pictures in link below are only 20% of what I own!!! Sometimes, I want to sell ALL of those vehicles. Sometimes, I like having them to display. I don't really get any guests except for my parents visit. SOmetimes, I think and wonder if I want to sell this to finance my near future. When snow is done, I want to have a long bed extended cab pick up truck, a 1977-1990 Chevy Caprice wagon, and a 1974-1983 CHerokee or full size Jeep Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer. I would then take my rottweiler on road trips to all different flea markets and pet bakeries. It's hard to do much right now with all those snow laying around. Decisions....

There's quite a few people of here who do that. Usually retirees who sell up, buy a 4x4 motorhome or SUV/Caravan and drive out into the wilds on a great adventure - usually stopping along the way if they can get any casual work at a minesite or something like that. They're known as "Grey Nomads" :)
I think it would be a good life!

When I moved back to Canada I arrived with two suitcases of clothing and my laptop bag (containing laptop, iPhone, iPod). I had nothing else except stuff I went and bought until December when our shipment of stuff arrived - and even that was just more clothes, some books and some DVDs.

By that stage I actually didn't really care about the stuff any more, I'd gone four months without it and didn't miss any of it at all. It's hard to throw stuff away when you pull it out of a box or shelf and it triggers memories, but I'm always surprised by how quickly that can fade for all but the most special items.

For now I pretty much sold everything I own except basic tools, clothes on my back and personal belongings.
Compared to what I used to have ( a full and complete wood shop and auto shop, a large house fully equiped with 4 beds, grand piano...)
Today I can load everything into one pickup and be gone.

I've thought about doing that. Check out "workamping," not workcamping. Click here to get started.
