To the editor:

I have a relative that is a deaf mute person. She has been in the nursing home for about nine months.

There is no paid staff member that does sign language and understands signing. I feel there is a need for personnel in such a facility to be able to communicate for these people. The nursing home is trying very hard to help meet the needs of my relative.

I am seeking the help of the deaf community to reach out and visit my relative. If anyone could help with this need, please contact me.

That's so sad... That's why I would like to see more
"Deaf Retirement and Independent Living Homes"
should be built just to get together for more enriching lives.

I noticed that the area code indicate that is
located somewhere in Mississippi (sp ?)
Unfortunately I do NOT know anyone there
except only one Deaf Mother
who already have 5 or 6 children
but she have no time to help outsiders.
