Secret Santa picks up 3 layaway bills

We just had an instance of 2 church members wanting to do something special and giving $15,000 to a local KMart for layaway's.

That is wonderful! There more the merrier! :thumb:

One of the families was a single father with 7 children. He only had $200 left to pay and had been laid off his job 2 days prior and couldn't pay the balance. In his case, the bill was paid except for 25 cents to keep it in the system, then he had another $1000 to spend however he wanted for his family.

It is sad he was laid off. It will have an effect on the children and we can only hope they will learn to endure it. It is tough right now and one should not feel ashamed in asking for help, because it is there.

Just heard of a man today that owns several car dealerships. He went to his local K-Mart and asked to pay off all lay away under $100! Awesome! This is what America is all about!

Very nice things to do, but people need to be careful about this.....

Many people are starting to take advantage of this, they can just put things on layaways, then wait for someone to pay off the bills. Later they can return the item to get money out of it.
