I was at the parts shop today picking up stuff for the truck. I like cloth seats the best for up here in cold country but they wear holes and get stained and so on in the course of time. Seat covers are the way to go but my truck has the side air bags in it and all the seat covers at the store say, "do not use these on seats in vehicles with side airbags.

Any ideas?

Can you get these?

Coverking - Custom Seat Cover Airbags

Apparently they allow airbags to deploy in the event on an accident.

I'm fairly rough on drivers seats, but considering my car is a Australian 1999 Ford Falcon and generally old and cheap, it's easier just to go a car dismantlers and get a decent seat rather than go to the trouble of looking for good covers or getting the whole seat retrimmed.

Thanks! I am checking into their site. I have never been a real fusser over the vehicle but this one is my first new one in twenty three years so I am making the try to start off right. Now I am curious what a 1999 Australian Ford Falcon looks like - I bet it is on the internet somewhere.

I think this is going to off to Goodonya's special design modification shop. Or maybe it is time dust off that old vibrating seat and back cushion with 24 little servos and heat as well.
I will read up on how these side airbags are supposed to work and where they are placed. I think the reasonable cost seat covers will end up working okay with some modification.
