I'm at my sister in law's house in VA (I'm on vacation). I am using their new Apple computer that they bought it 3 months ago. I was on AD website and using a scroll ball to scroll the browser. Then suddenly the ball refuse to scroll down but up? I wonder what was the problem with it? I am currently manually scrolling it by holding down mouse button and moving it up and down on scrollbar. Is there any fix for scroll ball?

I noticed you always break everything.

You are not only the one. Lot customer have same problem with scroll down.
Apple Store (U.S.) - Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse

Mighty mouse is shitty product. Most Logitech mouse still work great for many years. I own Logitech G7 and work great for gamer, photoshop, and Edit video due 7 buttons. :) Mighty mouse is only four buttons. Boo.

I think I have to agree with you that the Mighty mouse is lousy one. I have a MacCally (iceMouser Jr), and I personally like it.

I just googled on Logitech G7. Actually, this Logitech G7 looks really good to me, but I would rather that it comes with a wire for a good reason. Does + and - buttons for zoom in and zoom out? Are these buttons useful for the Final Cut Pro?

 not me! I read the Mighty Mouse review. Yeah, that's the same one what I'm using now.. They mentioned that just flip the mouse upside down and use plain paper and roll the ball around to clean it and it should be fine. Interesting. It's finicky mouse ball problem. I prefer Logitech optical wireless mouse. I never had problem with it. If I ever have Apple computer, I would re-use Logitech wireless mouse period. I would agree that Mighty Mouse is really crappy

I am not used to it's button and functions on Apple mouse. I tried to click side button and none avail until I pushed the mouse edge cover and finally got it. I did press ball button and I ended up with 4 widgets popping up in front of browser  I press again to make it disappeared. I'm kinda new to Apple tho.

The scroll ball is working normally now. Kinda odd, I think my bro in law fixed it while I was upstair getting myself ready for Avitation musuem.

Oh no! You bought the mouse with a rubber ball which you bought was not that old. I'm sorry I didn't read it carefully. I had a mouse with the ball three years ago, and I hate it. The laser inside a mouse is the best.

I think that you should talk to the dealer and have him to replace it for the laser mouse. That mouse (ball roller) is officially "antique". I really think that there is something wrong with your store that is not honest with you.

Yeah, my apple mighty mouse little ball doesn't work either. It did that for no reason even I tried to clean it by putting it upside down and rubbing it virgiously and that didn't really help. I'm using the old mouse in the box kensington 2 button mouse with scroll wheel.

Actually, I think that a ball roller inside the mouse would be okay as long as there is no problem with it.

I personally do not like the feeling about the laser inside the mouse. My hand is on the mouse that could be a "cancer" if I use it a lot. Don't panic! I am not saying that it is bad. Who knows. The laser does make a difference on other side. I'm just happy with my laser mouse since then. That's all.

Using laser mouse causing cancer are laughable. LED (light emitting diode) cannot give you cancer. it's not laser. I took em apart before and it's a plain ol' red LED with lens on front of LED and detector w/ len on bottom. It seem very bright when you flip it upside down. It's just the len focusing the light to one spot making it look very bright. You can try swap Red LED to Green or Blue. It'll be soo cool!! . At work, they swapped from balled mouse to Optical mouse. They use cheap mouse, one of mouse is a "drunken" one cuz it made pointer jittery and jumpy. I had gut to take it apart and unscrew the len holder and adjusted the LED to center then put it back together. It did fix the problem but no for long. I had to flip the mouse upside down and bang it then flip back and it works normally. I also tease my co worker by lifting the mouse upward and shine the LED light at them to annoy.

Optical wireless mouse is my favorite. I hates wires cuz it creates drag when I tried to move around. I moved up from balled wireless mouse to Optical. I still have two old balled Logitech wireless mouse and still use on old Linux box. First one had no middle wheel and 2nd have middle wheel.

Optical is old technology now. Laser is new.

Ball->Optical->Laser.

Logitech G7 is laser.

 Ok guys!! sound like it's new now. But still LED Laser (it's actually high powered LED laser similiar to laser pointers) doesn't cause cancer. It's voltage are cute and small.. BUT don't look at the laser directly or else you'll be blinded.

I'll look into newer laser mouse. Does it use less battery power than Optical mouse?? I would like to buy one too.

Be nice if they sell Virtual mouse just like virtual keyboard (one that use rod w/ laser scanner).

Why did they replace optical with laser, is there a good reason for that?

Nope, there is no LED laser.

LED use LED circuit and Laser use coherent light radiation. LED is not coherent.

A Laser mouse does not need a light source and better read.

I had optical mouse and hard time to read on my wood desk and I hate to use mouse pad. So I got G7 laser and work great on wood desk so rid mouse pad.
