The Limerick School for the Deaf which caters for pupils in pre-school, primary and post primary recently held an open day. Students can now sit their Leaving Cert in the school or proceed to Fetac Level 4. The school has pupils from Limerick, Clare, Tipperary and Kerry and transport is provided to the school by the Department of Education.The school is the only mixed school for the deaf.

St Joseph's, Cabra caters for deaf boys and St Mary's, Cabra caters for deaf girls. The Limerick School for the Deaf is a non residential school.
