7/2/2010 - Say It In Sign Offers Deaf Chat, Sign ‘n’ Dine - Happenings - Chattanoogan.com
The Say It In Sign non-prophet group is sponsoring two ongoing group meetings.
Angel Miller, director, said they are both free and open to the entire community.
The first, Deaf Chat, meets monthly (3rd Saturday of each month).
The second, Sign ‘n’ Dine, meets weekly. (Every Thursday except Thanksgiving).
Deaf Chat meets at Starbucks Coffee,
2217 Hamilton Place Blvd.
Ms. Miller said, "Join us for coffee and signed conversation on the 3rd Saturday of each month. Have some coffee and sign with new friends.
"It is open to everyone: deaf, hard of hearing (HOH) and students of sign language/ASL in the Chattanooga region. There is no charge to attend this casual and fun group. Monthly attendance averages between 40-60 people.
"This is a great opportunity to meet new people, network, and develop your sign language skills in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Recent photos, videos, free posters and more are available on our website: Say It In Sign "
She said Sign 'n' Dine "is an on-going group that meets 4:30-6:30 p.m. each Thursday at an area restaurant in order to meet new people, enjoy a good meal, and have some great fellowship. This group is open to anyone interested in sign language and meeting new people.
"Whether you are deaf, hard of hearing, hearing, or a student of sign language/ASL, everyone in the Chattanooga region is invited to come Sign & Dine. There is no charge to attend. Purchase your own meal. The restaurant location changes each month. More information is available on our website: Say It In Sign "
