actually it may drop back JUST A LITTLE but it won't go back to like $2.75 or anywhere close to it because we're greedy like that. remember oil embargo back in 1973? it was like $3 per barrel but with oil embargo - price quadrupled to $12 per barrel. Because of this - there was a demand for search of alternative energy. Guess what happened? very little research was done for it. embargo was lifted off later on and the oil price did not drop back at all. Same theory will apply for this one. The only difference is the oil price will not keep rising but will steadily stay at say... around $3-4ish.

it's never gona run out completely for another 200+ years or MUCH longer. look at coal, tree, etc. - our former type of energy. they're still around but we simply moved onto newer type of energy upon discovery called.. oil. we're probably going to newer type of energy in about 30+ years but oil will still be around and continued to be used for another 100+ years.

several reasons. the technological advancement will:
1. increased efficiency of oil extraction
2. increased efficiency of burning oil (such as increased MPG)
3. discover a new way of extracting oil from other resources (such as garbage/crop/etc)

When the price of oil gets higher than the price of alternative energy/energies, the Saudis (and OPEC) will get nervous.

They're nervous. Not dumb and nervous.

i don't think they're worried about that. ever wonder why American cars severely lagged behind rest of the world in terms of MPG? Take a look at our car manufacturers (Fords, Chrysler, etc.) and guess who are one of their major shareholders. yes yes..... the Dubai men.... they purposely lagged our MPG efficiency to keep us addicted to oil... oh well....
