This terror plot threat is impacting some local college students who are currently overseas.

A delegation from RIT made up of 14 students from the National Technical Institute For The Deaf are in England for a week long workshop. They're staying at the Herstmonceaux Castle, which is three hours south of London.

They arrived last Saturday for a leadership workshop for deaf students from five different countries. This is the first workshop of its kind created to boost diversity and global communication. The group found about the terror plot on television. Students quickly contacted their family by phone and email. They say they feel safe because the castle is located in a quiet and isolated area. But for now, they say they're continuing with the workshop and plan to leave for home as planned.

PEN-International Director James DeCaro says, "We do have state department numbers in every country that we travel to, but in this instance we didn't think it was necessary to do so. We're having our travel agent follow it for us in terms of the potential restrictions we might face on our return trip."
