RIT announces national art and writing contests for deaf students - Brighton, NY - Brighton-Pittsford Post
Rochester Institute of Technology has announced two creative competitions for deaf and hard-of-hearing high school students, both offering cash prizes for the winners.
The RIT Digital Arts, Film and Animation Competition for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Students invites all students grades 9 to 12 to submit up to two entries in the categories of Web design, graphic media, film, 3-D animation, interactive media and photo illustration. The submission must be received by mail on a CD or DVD, along with an entry form and a 150- to 300-word descriptive essay about the piece.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in the Dyer Arts Center at RIT. For more information, visit RIT - Digital Arts, Film, and Animation Competition for Deaf and Hard-of-Heading Students. Registration deadline is Jan. 15.
The RITs SpiRIT Writing Contest for Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing Students is open to students grades 10 to 12. Winners will receive their choice of a scholarship and travel expenses to the Explore Your Future program or a $500 cash prize. EYF is a six-day career exploration program for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
