Ok, since my last thread was closed for some reason, I would like to continue with my questions. I do appreciate the ideas that I got from the people who posted on my other thread. Please keep this one a little less argument centered. Sources for studies are awesome, but I am also looking for the opinions of people who deaf, parents of deaf children, ect. Thank you. :)

So my questions are:

what style is more preferable when it comes to education for deaf students: oral, ASL, or both?

How are students in oral schools taught? what methods are used?

Would the idea of having a few centrally located schools in each school district developing a specialized program for the deaf/hoh (using a mix of ASL and oral methods) be a good idea? This is mainly for those who can't go to a deaf school for one reason or another (money, distance, ect.)

Is the ability to get to a place that offers a quality education for the deaf a major factor in deciding which school should be attended?

If any of these questions don't make sense, just let me know. Again, I would really appreciate any help I could get. Thanks!

Perhaps go to Jolie's thread that addresses these types of questions. Chances are, if you look hard enough you will find that these questions and more have already been answered.

I agree with PFH. Better wait for Calvin or other moderator to clear up as long as we calm down with no fussing over each other.

I have willingly answered so many questions, that I just can't justify too many more.
