Many many years ago when I was twenty three,
I got married to a widow who was pretty as could be.
This widow had a grown-up daughter
Who had hair of red.
My father fell in love with her,
And soon the two were wed.

This made my dad my son-in-law
And changed my very life.
My daughter was my mother,
For she was my father’s wife.
To complicate the matters worse,
Although it brought me joy.
I soon became the father
Of a bouncing baby boy.

My little baby then became
A brother-in-law to dad.
And so became my uncle,
Though it made me very sad.
For if he was my uncle,
Then that also made him brother
To the widow’s grown-up daughter
Who, of course, was my step-mother.

Father’s wife then had a son,
Who kept them on the run.
And he became my grandson,
For he was my daughter’s son.
My wife is now my mother’s mother
And it makes me blue.
Because, although she is my wife,
She’s my grandma too.

If my wife is my grandmother,
Then I am her grandchild.
And every time I think of it,
It simply drives me wild.
For now I have become
The strangest case you ever saw.
As the husband of my grandmother,
I am my own grandpa!!

Hmm... wasn't this posted 4 months ago?

Anyways...

They did something like this as a song in The Stupids. ;)

That reminded me of my conversation with a friend. I asked her how does the child is related to another child if Brother A married Sister B and Brother B married Sister A and each couple had a child? The answer is double cousin according to the Kinship book that I bought. My friend had a better answer and her answer is "A mess". OP's post is even bigger mess!!

I remember having a similar conversation with someone related to step-parents.

If Man A and Woman A are married and have a kid named Person A, that makes Man A the father and Woman A the mother of Person A. If Man A dies and Woman A later marries Man B, that makes Man B the step-father of Person A. The kids of Man B would be step-brothers and step-sisters of Person A. What if Woman A later dies and Man B later marries Woman B who has her own kids. What does that make those kids? Step-step-brothers and step-step-sisters?

Good Lord!....I dunno...and won't "tax" my little brain for the answer! :giggle:....

anyhow...when people say..."she's my step-aunt...once removed" or something like that....I throw up my hands and say: ''whatever"....
