Mine is fake, sometimes I miss the real tree's smell, but had to be enviroment friendly..

My Christmas tree is fake, obviously. It's because it is easier to assemble it and to dis-assemble it. Also, It makes the cleaning job much easier too. :)

so is mine. since i live in an apartment, it's much easier to have a fake tree so i don't have to worry about cleaning up the needles.
 
Mine is a fake one. Easier, cleaner and keeps for many years. :)

I was wondering about this. Are they really? Those fake ones are made out of plastic, and plastic is not earth friendly. Are they recycled?

As for real ones, I don't know if they are any better. Can you compost them, or use them as firewood?

I think I'll go with a real one.

Yes, really! Because you don't have to trash them every year like the real tree, for example, I have my fake Christmas Tree for 3 years and can use it again this year. Real tree get rotten after the Christmas and have to be trashed every year, but imagine how many real tree if everyone prefer the real tree? The trees will be gone within no time... Also plastic might not be enviromential friendly, but the fake christmas tree is something that can be kept forever instead of real tree.

Yes me too. I did with compost or use woods for firewood...

I am for real tree. We will pick the tree from the villiage hunter tomorrow.
 
This is a little off topic,I have try that pine in a can that is use on fake trees it don't work but I love the smell of pine.

Ah hell, due to a shot or 2 'O JD, we apparently ashtrayed a newly chopped real tree to the fire pit.
 
Speaking of real, we got about roughly 120 ft tall dougla firs surrounding my neighborhood. :P
 
We get our cut tree from one of the Oregon farms....the species I absolutely miss seeing/having is the blue spruce but I think they are more prevalent in the Midwest where I come from; either that or they are getting rarer and a whole lot more expensive if they are available at all.

Hmmm, isn't that Colorado Spruce you're talking about? Those trees are really stiff.

Might be, Sequoias; they have a bluish hue to them,,,,,very beautiful. I haven't seen one in a long time.....

Is that what you referring to? I see them all over Seattle area, but it's very common in the rockies like Utah, Colorado, etc since the growing conditions are better there....they like growing in colder climates, not in warmer climates like South California.
